Merge Mean Average

Accessible via:
  • Menubar » Tools » Vertex Tools² » Merge… » Merge
  • Toolbar » Vertex Tools² - Edit » Merge

Collapses all selected vertices to a single point at their mean average position.

Merge Close Vertices

Accessible via:
  • Menubar » Tools » Vertex Tools² » Merge… » Merge Close Vertices
  • Toolbar » Vertex Tools² - Edit » Merge Close Vertices

Merges selected vertices that are within a prompted distance from each other.

Merge To Point

Accessible via:
  • Menubar » Tools » Vertex Tools² » Merge… » Merge To Point
  • Toolbar » Vertex Tools² - Edit » Merge To Point
  1. Select vertices to merge.
  2. Pick a point in the model.

Merges all selected vertices to a point picked in the model.

Make Planar

Accessible via:
  • Menubar » Tools » Vertex Tools² » Make Planar
  • Toolbar » Vertex Tools² - Edit » Make Planar

Selected vertices will be projected to a best fitting plane. Soft selected vertices are affected but do not contribute to the computation of the plane.

It is currently not possible to define any custom plane. But the Gizmo can be oriented and then used to scale to zero to make a set of vertices planar.

Relax

Accessible via:
  • Menubar » Tools » Vertex Tools² » Relax… » Relax Vertices
  • Toolbar » Vertex Tools² - Edit » Relax

"Relaxes" the selected vertices by evening the distances between neighboring vertices. Repeating the action will eventually make the mesh settle to a point where Relax no longer will have an effect.

Relax can be constrained to act in only a given set of axes. This is useful for evening the distances in a particular direction.

By default the vertices at the border of a mesh will remain fixed. If the border is relaxed the mesh will shrink in size.

Vertex Slide

Accessible via:
  • Menubar » Tools » Vertex Tools² » Vertex Slide… » Vertex Slide
  • Toolbar » Vertex Tools² - Edit » Vertex Slide

Vertex Slide allows vertices to be moved along their connected edges. This allows for fine adjustments to the vertices while preserving the overall existing topology.

The direction is guided by picking points in the model. A vertex is not able to move beyond the length of it's connected edges.

Options

Accessible via:
  • Menubar » Tools » Vertex Tools² » Vertex Slide…
  • Vertex Mode » Vertex Slide Tool » Context Menu
Slide by Offset
The vertices slides by equal percentage along their connected edges.
Slide by Percent
The vertices slides by absolute distance along their connected edges.
